Wedding Guest Makeup

This Saturday just gone I went to the second wedding I've ever been to. My cousin was marrying her partner of 7 years and it had been a date in the diary that I had been looking forward to for over a year! The weather was all anyone could ask for on their wedding day. The sun was shining, there were blue skies all around and there were smiles on everyone's faces. It was such a lovely day and it was great to spend time with family members that I don't get to see that often. There are alot of people in my family so it's rare that alot of us are in the same place at once. It's really interesting to see which directions we are all heading towards now that we are all older, I'm one of the youngest so there are lots of varied career paths to keep up to date with.

That being said one of the best parts of a day out, in my personal opinion, is getting reading in the morning. Being someone who is aiming to pursue a career in makeup I had been thinking of what to wear on my face for a while. When it came to it I had a rough idea of what I wanted to achieve, some eye inspiration came from this Pixiwoo video but on the whole I just made it up as I went along.  It consisted of a light base, natural smokey eye and a natural lip colour. It lasted pretty well thanks to the primer and powder that I used throughout the day, despite the persistent heat.

This time last week it was my birthday and I turned 19. Slightly scary that I'm now in my final year as a teenager but we'll overlook that. It was a very relaxed day. I had work that day so I got up early to open my presents. No, I'm not patient enough to wait until the afternoon. I'll grow up next year, I promise. And then once the working day was over I came home for tea and birthday cake, victoria sponge if anyone was wondering, and then went out to a local pub for a meal with my family.  Nothing special, but it was a really lovely day. This past Monday I also went to Brighton, one of my favourite places, for a bit of shopping and sightseeing with two of my friends. I have decided that at one point in my life I would love to live in Brighton. It just feels like a place that I could live very comfortably, there is a good mix between rural and city life.

As you can see I was truly spoilt for my birthday and I love every single one of my presents. I love reading these style of posts, so I thought I would share what I got for my birthday.

Why I Love MAC's Patina

1. It goes with anything. Anything.

2. It is one of my go-to eyeshadow shades.

3. It is such a gorgeous and unique colour. I have never seen anything like it.

4. Did I mention I love it?

The Neutral Lip Duo

For the past few months since the purchase of these two happened I have been using them (and loving them) a lot, but on their own. And then one morning a few weeks ago I had just applied the lip liner and on a whim put the lipstick on over the top. They are the perfect match! Now you may think that I'm silly for not realising this before, especially as in these photos they look rather similar, but it just hadn't occured to me. They really complimented each other and created a lovely natural-pink lip. This combo has now been made a permanent fixture in the looks I always go back to.

01.07.14

Today marks the first day of July which just so happens to be one of my favourite months of the year. It's warm (most of the time) and it's my birthday month! As I've already mentioned on here before my birthday is on the 12th, we're keeping it quite relaxed this year for the grand old age of 1-9. A dinner with the family and a trip to Brighton is on the cards, Bill's I am coming for you! There is also the Wimbldeon finals to look forward to, of course as Brit I am supporting Andy Murray to take home the crown again this year.  I want to spend as much time with friends over the next month or so as they are all back from uni, and what better way to spend the summer weather. I'm feeling a jug (or two) of Pimms at one of the local country pubs is needed. A trip to the beach, ending the day with fish and chips. How else?  There's a summer wedding on the cards this month which I am excited for and I am seeing my best friend of 19 years at the end of the month.

Hi July, it's nice to see you again.
