Just Because It's January...

As Joey would say, January is a bit of a 'moo' month (I congratulate you if you get this reference, if not let me enlighten you here).  Christmas and New Year is over, and summer is still a few months away. Nothing much goes on in this month apart from a lot of talk about dieting, excercising and exams. Now I won't say that I haven't fallen for this as well, read my first blogpost and you will see that one of my aims for this year is to live a healthier lifestyle. However! I want to change my opinion of January from a cold, bleak month with not much to look forward to, into a month of 'new beginnings'.

We are now a week into the first month of 2014 and I can only assume that some of you have broken some of your New Year's Resolutions? Fear not! For I have some suggestions to turn January into a month of optimistic thoughts.

- learn the art of moderation. Instead of a whole bar of chocolate, how about half?
- Visit a town 15 minutes away from you that you have never been to before, it is surprising what you might find.
- Go for a walk in a new place. Take photos. Appreciate your surroundings.
- Make the most of the sales. Print out some photos from the last year and put them all into a photo album. You'll thank yourself in a few years time when you are able to look back on your time and see what a fool of yourself you made.
- Cook something! My absolute favourite cake is banana and chocolate, and it's so easy!
- Watch a film you've never seen before with loved ones
- Start to read that book that you've been meaning to read for a while
-
These are all very simple things that you can do. I'm going to give them a try throughout this month, who knows maybe you'll even hear about a few of them?
