The Weekend Post: Birthdays and Burgers

This past Sunday was spent celebrating my mums birthday. It's actually on Tuesday but we decided to celebrate on the weekend when everyone was around. We all went out to a local restaurant and were absolutely spoiled by the delicious food! I went for the Lamb and Feta burger, which I actually ended up eating without the bread, and some super amazing chips. I mean seriously look at them! I'm normally a skinny fries girl, but these won me over fair and square.  And then I couldn't quite handle a full on dessert after the almighty burger. So instead I went for sorbet, one raspberry and one blackcurrant scoop. The raspberry was definitely my favourite, it was so creamy you would have thought it was actually ice cream.  A very much appreciated and lovely lunch with the family!

The Weekend Post: Pancakes, Pancakes, Pancakes

I am absolutely exhausted. This past week has been one of the best, and most tiring weeks that I've had for a while. I have spent the week commuting up to London to go to a makeup course (more on that in another post). So that's meant leaving the house at ten past seven in the morning(!) and getting back about seven in the evening. A solid 12 hour day which was well and truly worth it. I then went straight into work on Saturday and absolutely collapsed when I got home. Spent the afternoon and evening curled up watching many, many youtube videos. Perfection in my eyes. I feel like I haven't stopped for the past 2 weeks and I can't wait to just spend a whole day doing absolutely nothing.

I started off the weekend just the way every weekend should, with pancakes! (It was my brothers 14th birthday so it was a bit of a special occasion). I like to eat my pancakes in a pool of maple syrup. None of this small amount as you need it business. And that's it.  I'm off to do absolutely nothing which I feel I have earnt after the last couple of weeks. Bliss!

The Weekend Post: Makeup and Macbeth

Well this weekend sure was a busy one and I welcomed Sunday with welcome arms. The reason for this? I've had a pretty busy week in general and I then had work Friday and Saturday. Both days I went straight on to help with the stage makeup for a local play. It was tiring but I had so much fun doing it! I had a lot more creative power than the other play that I did a couple of weeks ago now. The photo above is a drawing that I did for the witches, the play was Macbeth if you hadn't guessed by the title! So there were also lots of war heroes, bruises and Ladies to make up. You can also see that my name was in the credits of the programme which was a very proud moment for me! I feel like it really is the start of something for me at the moment, and the only way to go is straight on.

I've got another busy week coming up and then it all starts to slow down again. I'm feeling a pyjama and gossip girl day in the making?

The Weekend Post: The Calm Before The Storm

Our photobooth fail in Topshop
This weeks been a quiet one. I started off the week in London on Monday to meet up with Milli and Lorna who I met at my short time at Uni. We had a typical girly day. Starting off with Nandos at midday and then walking over to Oxford Street to get our shop on (and help burn off the nandos sized food babies that were occurring). And let me tell you, I did some serious damage. But like I keep telling everyone, I'm now going to give you the same pathetic excuse. I'm revamping my wardrobe! Swiftly moving on..

Tuesday also started off in a productive manner. Drumroll please, I went to Zumba! For the first time in about 6 months. I felt so much better afterwards. I can tell that I need to up my fitness levels but it's a form of excercise that I'm willing to commit to. Dancing along to the current tunes, yes please! I'm going to try  do a class 2/3 times a week, and maybe fit in some swimming. Maybe.

A few days at work and now it's the weekend. I'm not doing a whole lot because I have something planned everyday of this upcoming week until Saturday. I'll definitely be ready for a lie down this time next week.
